Just having him sleep in my arms brings this overwhelming euphoric feeling over me. I couldn’t even imagine not having him. I am so blessed.

Flash back Friday: A 3m old Adonis wearing the outfit Luca wore today. The picture in the middle is the only picture I have nursing Adonis. Shortly after I stopped nursing him because of many reasons. I was uneducated on breastfeeding and didn’t have the support I have now. Adonis bio-“sperm donor” didn’t even want me being photographed nursing him. I was scared, younger, and misinformed. Here I am now: informed, confident, and proud. Last picture marks 260 days nursing my baby boy, Luca, with confidence and knowledge along with support that has helped come this far. #365daysofbreastfeeding #day260 #breastfeeding

Last year I vowed to myself that I will only throw birthday parties for milestone birthdays such as first birthday, fifth, tenth, thirteenth birthday, etc. For every other birthday though, I plan a special intimate birthday breakfast and birthday dinner with close friends and immediate family, and around the time of the birthday do a family outing.
Well this year it was to see Thomas the tank engine live at the Essex Steam Railway in Essex,CT. We went this past weekend, if you follow me on Instagram, Twitter, or Vine (iphone users only) you probably got a glimpse of our wonderful experience.
The glee in Adonis’ eyes just warmed my heart completely. Luca stayed with my mom, so the focus could be just all on Adonis since it was his early birthday gift (and Luca is way to young to go to an event like that).

I hope to do it again next year if Adonis is still into Thomas or maybe Luca will be in to it. My only biggest regret was not timing everything well. We spent most of the day waiting in line, and we didn’t get to see the magic show or the story time with Thomas, so I think next time we’ll skip the carnival rides.

Now that its warmer Adonis can be pantless around the house, he complained a lot that he was cold before. It’s going to be a year since the potty has been on the map here at home. We had many successes and accidents. We tried, gave up, tried again, gave up again, and now we are trying again- and hopefully for the last time. I scored the potty power DVD through Freecycle along with a few kids DVDs. Adonis saw it for the first time on Monday and he was in a trance while watching it. He loved it!

As for the chart I made it on a foam card. At first I had plan to punch holes in each square kind of like how a train conductor punch holes on a bordering pass, since Adonis loves trains. I wasn’t able to because the foam was to thick for the whole puncher. So I glued it onto a larger piece of paper and used circus stickers that I got on clearance from target a couple months back. Every five stickers he gets a lollipop. I found out about these lollipops from Adonis pediatrician- he gets one every time we go their for appointments. He absolutely loves them he’s currently having a hard time getting the idea that he has to get accumulate a certain number of stickers first in order to get a lollipop. I just continue reminding him about the stickers. I also made myself a potty chart to use when I have to go potty around him. For the next three days I’m going to try not leave the house. If its nice out we will play outside other than that I’m going to really try to be consistent with potty training while indoors. Not sure what the big surprise will be, but I’m sure Nico and I will come up with something creative. I know he can do it! He loves his potty books and the Elmo potty app I have on my phone. We have a potty in his room, one in the living, and a potty sit for the big potty in our downstairs bathroom. Haha there’s no escaping this potty business kiddo!

I know Adonis is ready because he has used the potty before and he has asked to go on the potty. I’m not going to force him to go on the potty, I know it will become a power struggle, but I am going to consistently encourage him. He will be three next month and I am so done with diapers/training pants. I’m hoping by this summer he will be in big kid underwear.

I’m so sad. We can’t keep Henry anymore 😔 Adonis is way to rough with him and Henry has been fighting back. Today he scratched Adonis’ face real bad; almost caught his eye. I’m so upset that it didn’t work out. This is our last week with him😢😢😢😢

This video was taken last week while Adonis and Luca were enjoying their current favorite show Mickey Mouse Clubhouse. Here is a little update on my two favorite boys.

Adonis

Aw I can’t believe he’s 34 months old. Everyday he is using his words more and more. It’s amazing! Last Wednesday night he woke up around 10pm crying, so I rushed to his bedside. He clearly said “Mama my ear hurts”. He was in pain and instead of just crying, he was able to use his words clearly and that made my heart melt even more. I gave him some medicine and also a couple drops of breast milk in the ear. He settled back down after an hour. The next morning it was like it never happened. Which brings me to my next thing that I love about my son, he wakes up so happy and joyfully yells “Good Morning” to us every morning. I just love LOVE listening to his little voice when talks. On Saturday evening driving to my in-laws after spending time with my dad we had a whole conversation about trains and tunnels. A whole 30m drive I must add! Pretty awesome stuff!
Granted we have our rough days and potty training is still on going process. In less than two months time this little boy is going to be 3 yrs old- can you believe 3 YEARS OLD! Man how time flown! At the beginning of May we are taking him to see Thomas the Tank Engine as an early birthday present. Last year I vowed that I’m only going to do big parties for milestone birthdays (1st, 5th, 10th, etc.), so since Adonis’ birthday falls on or around Memorial Day weekend every year we plan on doing an annual Memorial Day BBQ and cut a cake for Adonis birthday. For the in between birthdays I plan on doing something special like taking him to see Thomas.

Now for an update on Luca:

This little guy is 7 months old, and at 7 months old he has two bottom front teeth, he does the army crawl, and if you sit him up he will hold himself for a few minutes. He nurses around the clock. Doesn’t sleep through night like he use too, so he averages to waking up twice or three times a night to nurse and diaper change. We do disposables at night and cloth during the day, and no matter what he is in he hates a wet diaper. Adonis could careless. It’s so funny seeing the differences in both my children. Also Luca has said “banana” a couple of times along with “papa” once last night, and the rest is “bababababa” babble. Every time he see me right away he fusses or laughs (depending on the mood he’s in) and slaps my chest demanding for some food. We are practicing baby led weaning and so far it going well. He has had chicken, bread, banana bread, pineapple, cantaloup, blueberries, cucumber, broccoli, carrots, and Cheerios. It’s so cute watching him study the food we give him, and the facial expressions- I was looking forward to those!
I look at these boys everyday and I think to myself how blessed I am. Who knew by 23 years old I’d be practically married with two beautiful boys. I am so lucky.
